Clint Eastwood defends conservatives in Hollywood

So Clint East wood said on the Fox News channel that there are a lot of conservatives in Hollywood who are afraid to express their views on the political campaign . He says these people feel this because they are afraid of losing work . This article caught my eye because it seems celebrities want to continue into the political debates .

As a student this affects me greatly because what if Clint Eastwood the big celebrity he is attracts voters for the wrong reason ad they end up voting for Mitt Romney , A lot of budget cuts would happen under Romney's presidency . As a future film maker this effects me heavily because if I were to say get famous people would want me broadcasting my opinion and only looking on how im famous not my actual opinion . As a consumer this also affects me because I hate having to deal with all these celebrities on TV and seeing them on ads on the internet . Now I have to ask the industry are they finally done with the celebrities or is it going to be a continuous trend .

Clint East Wood ... Really

Clint Eastwood has recently filmed a new commercial for presidential candidate Mitt Romney . It was said to have been filmed in his house , it was released to be aimed at battle ground states for Mitt Romney , it features Clint Eastwood's narration as well as him appearing on screen .  This is important because more and more people will fall just for Clint Eastwood .

The impact of this article as a student is big because Romney wants to cut the school budget and this would make my education worse . As a future film maker this is also bad because I could be stuck to presidential elections which I just wouldn't want to do with my career . As a consumer this is not as bad but it just more crap that's on tv . It really makes you think , when will more unnecessary commercials like this stop , will it continue or will people finally see that the commercials are so biased .

Law to protect child actors

Governor Jerry Brown signed a bill which will not registered sex offenders represent minors in the entertainment industry . It requires background checks for managers, publicist , photographers and others with access to young performers. The bill has gained popularity because of the recent cases of sex offenders with young actors . Jason James Murphy was accused of being a sex offender on the set of Super 8. This caught my eye because i was a child actor .

As a student this is awesome because that means if i were to get into the business of say acting again i would know that I am protected because of various background checks on the people im working with . As a future film maker this is also awesome because I know that the people im working with will be clean and that no one will have any legal issues . As a consumer this is also good because the actual actors on screen will be protected and I never want to seem harm to anyone . My questions for the industry will there be anymore background checks on anyone or will this be it ?

Innocence of Muslims

People have been really riled up by the new indie movie Innocence of Muslims . The film with a  cast of 40 people and  some simple pyrotechnics has been blamed for starting riots world wide . It was filmed at Blue Cloud Movie Ranch in Santa Clarita . The film permit has also been a serious debate . Los Angelas County authorities had asked Film LA not to release the permit . On Thursday they distributed the permit with information redacted such as , names , and addressing information. Some people of the crew claim that they were tricked into doing the film . This is important because this film really goes out there and bashes Muhammad and I wanted to see the permit .

As a student this affects me because people do get tricked into some movies that really ruin them so I have to be careful on what I work on . As a future film maker , permits really mean everything to a movie cause you cant shoot with out them and im assuming there going to make it a lot more tough to get one after this .  As a consumer this really could hurt some good indie film makers because of the permit being harder to acquire . My question is if the Director realizes hes hurting all of us with this .

Poor Old Godzilla .

Godzilla will now be rebooted in 3D. The reboot will be scheduled for 2014 of May. Gareth Edwards will be directing the film , he is known for the Expendables and the Dark Night Trilogy.  Legendary and Warner Bros have said that they will return it to its epic roots with a gritty , realistic actioner . Thomas Tull and Jon Jashni as well as Roy Lee will produce the film . This article caught my eye cause I love Godzilla and I thought oh no not a Godzilla remake .

To me as a student this impacts me because soon I will have to learn to not use the brain I have to make new ideas because the future will be filled of remakes . As a future filmmaker this really saddens me because the industry is just becoming remake after remake and soon it will be expected of Filmmakers . As a consumer i despise this , I absolutely hate 3D and I don't like how there remaking Godzilla . I have to question the industry , why the remakes and why the god awful 3D improve it before you use it .

Jake Eberts

Jake Eberts died in his home town of Montreal this morning at the age of seventy one . He was a renowned film producer and was credited for many films thirty seven of them winning Oscars . He was known for financing indie movies which would got be accepted by big movie officials . Denys Arcand says " He took film making seriously . He felt cinema should be used for the betterment of man kind." Ebert was developing the IMAX documentary Jerusalem slated for release in 2013 and also a sixty million dollar project in China .
This article caught my eye because I have seen his name credited in a movie I have seen before and I was assuming it was the same person .

This impacts me as a student because people like Ebert believed in supporting Indie films , if one day as a student somebody like him could of helped me , but sadly with Ebert gone that likeliness goes down . As a future film maker this affects me severely because I have less chances of being green lighted because without people like Ebert , it will be harder . As a consumer this effects me because there will be less indie movies around to watch , Ebert was known for supporting indie films and helping them get to big screens . My question is when will people start realizing that indie films can be really amazing if they are supported .

Robocop Remake

Michael Keaton plans to play in the new Robocop remake . He is going to play Raymond Sellars and he has actually replaced Hugh Laurie , the say Micheal Keaton is the last puzzle piece to the film . Keaton joins Joel Kinnaman, Gary Oldman, Samuel L. Jackson and Abbie Cornish . He says he cant wait to get back on the streets with Alex Murphy . The movie is said to be opening August 9th 2013

This is important because I have mixed feelings with Micheal Keaton I liked his Bat Man, but I didn't like him in toy story . To me as a student this doesn't really effect me to much . As a Future Film maker though it does effect me a little bit more because if remakes like this keep getting popular , then one day sadly everything might be a remake and no originality . As a consumer i don't mind to much because I was never really interested in Robocop , and to have Michael in it kinda makes me less interested . This raises the  question when will they stop making remakes of movies that were fine on their own  .

A group of researchers in South Korea are working on a way to have 3-D without the 3-D glasses . What they do is that they take each of your eyes, sitting at a slightly different angle, have some of the screen blocked and some of the screen visible. The movie has the right-eye and left-eye images interleaved in vertical columns with one another. This then creates a 3-D effect at the right angle . The problem is , is that if you not at the right angle it will ruin the whole effect .  it also only airs the movie in really low resolution and will not look good when played live .

This is important because i hate 3-D it to me is an annoying gimic that needs to die and i hope they don't find a way to make all movies in 3-D like this . As a student this could impact me in the future because ill have to learn how to make movies in this way which will just be an extra chore . As a future film maker it will effect me severely because if the gimic grows large enough all movies will have to be shot in 3-D which will then make the movie to me worse . As a a consumer this will effect me horribly I hate 3-D and to make it bigger will make me not see some movies anymore and will limit what i see . this now raises the question will 3-D take over the consumers and will the gimic grow any bigger .

The article is talking about how China is releasing The Dark Knight Rises and The Amazing Spider Man on the same dates so that American movies lose money . They lose money because of the fact movies get a big chunk of there money on the opening day , since they are both opening on the same day they lose money because they have to split the money . Especially if they are the same Genre because they have the same type of movie goers going to two different movies . For example the movie Ice Age brought in $51 Million while Lorax brought in only $1 Million . This article caught my eye in particular because of the fact Dark Night Rises , being opened on the same day with other movies will lose money and me myself really liking  this movie is sad to see it lose money for stupid reasons .

This article to me as a student wont really affect me , but as a future film maker it will really hurt sales in China and it will make me lose profit . This will then hurt my chances to make more movies for people . As a consumer it will affect me severely because of the fact that the directors wont bring in as big of a profit so they sometimes wont get the money to make another movie . Say with Lorax , It gained only $1Million while it had $71 million in America .This then brings up the idea of how long will companys deal with this . Warner Bros has already tried to delay there movies but failed , and other companys don't want to oppose in fear that they will offend China .
